Members of the Community Associations Law Team will be speaking at CAI's Annual Legislative and Legal update in May and June

This year’s Update will be held on the following dates:  May 2, May 9, and June 3.   The June program is on a Saturday intended for homeowners. Heather Gillespie, the Ombudsman for Community Associations for the State, will be speaking at that session. The half-day programs will include the following topics: Legislative and Case Law Update; The latest in Enforcement Issues and Rule-Making Authority; Board Confidentiality in a World of Transparency; Voting-Evolving Trends in Membership Elections and Authority for Corporate Actions.

MIKE INMAN AND JEANNE LAUER TO SPEAK AT CAI EVENT

On Saturday March 8, 2014, Mike Inman will be speaking at CAI's annual Community Association Day on Transition - Developer Control, Contractors and Management Companies.    Jeanne Lauer will be speaking on Due Process featuring violations, charges, suspension of services; the hearing; and procedures after due process.

This is an all-day event sponsored by the SEVA Chapter of the Community Associations Institute which will be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. This one day gathering features presentations on a variety of topics and a trade show of over 50 vendors of CA services. It provides homeowners a chance to meet with both vendors and other homeowners in community associations. As usual Inman & Strickler will have a booth at the show. Mike Inman to speak on lender requirements for condominium unit sales and refinances!

Mike Inman to present a seminar on condo unit financing on January 29, 2013 at 12:00 at 1300 Diamond Springs Road, Suite 400, Virginia Beach, Virginia and on February 5, 2013 at 12:00 at Coventry HOA Clubhouse, 100 Wrought Iron Bend, Yorktown, Virginia.

Agenda will include: Criteria used by Fannie Mae, FHA and VA; Obtaining FHA and VA Project Approval; role of managers and Association officers in “shaping up” the Association if deficient; expiration of approvals.
